Hey folks! Now, I don't know about you, but I feel like I live breath and will most likely pass away in a turtle neck. I find myself neglecting all my other tops in my closet because I wake up already knowing I'll be wearing a turtleneck combo. Well my last outfit post, I showed you my absolute favorite laid back winter look, but I'd love to share some fun, easy and versatile ways to style up a basic turtle neck. I'm a very simple gal, you see. And if you're like me, then you'll certainly enjoy this post.
I've really been feeling the satin skirt trend! In this combo, I'm wearing an Abercrombie & Fitch satin midi skirt and I must say I'm surprised. I'm used to shopping there for my cotton needs but they really did it up with this satin skirt. I'd had my eye on them for the longest before deciding to go for it. And I'll be honest, I had NO idea how I'd style it once I received it. I thought it looked just so strange on me. But I soon realized how great they pair with turtlenecks. What I always love to tell people, is to try out different pieces in with different outfit combos. Because that shirt or dress you may have laying around in your closet that you never wear may have a purpose.. just not with the outfit that you expect. Now if you are interested in trying out a satin midi skirt, you can find a couple pieces on my shop HERE. The nice thing about these skirts, is (for the most part) you can wear them practically all year round. Go for it and give them a try!
With an outfit like this, I love to add a pop of color somewhere. So I either throw on a jacket or add a fancy necklace. This time I opted for a blazing yellow jacket. This is a great way to get out of the funk of always wearing dark clothes during the winter time too. Sometimes we need a bright pop of color to cheer us up throughout the day! The nice thing about this jacket is that it complimented the yellow flowers on my skirt a bit. And of course, these amazing earring from RennyMadeJewelry just gave this outfit even more life! Check her out if you have the chance.
